Synopsis:
A dreamlike cinematic poem about a family. A boy runs an errand for his mother and realizes that she is dying. A man attends the funeral of a former lover and speaks to her ghost. A woman learns to appreciate the little things around her in everyday life. Meanwhile, in another place at another time, a young girl tries to photograph an incredibly beautiful snow landscape. She then finds an antique watch buried in the snow...

INHALATION (2010)

[INHALATION] Seng (Ernest Chong) confronts Mei (Susan Lee)


Synopsis:
Unhappy farm worker Mei steals some money from her boyfriend Seng, boards a ship to Japan and leaves him broken-hearted. But when she is deported it is Seng that greets her at the harbor for a night of bitter reflection. A spin-off of Woo Ming Jin's THE TIGER FACTORY.

THE WHITE FLOWER (2010)

Synopsis:
A young Chinese woman living in Tokyo is haunted by remnants of a forbidden relationship and a dark family past. She ends up in a sanitarium and meets a doctor conflicted between his job and his personal feelings. After being discharged, she meets a wandering Thai filmmaker contemplating the relationship between art and love. Her encounters with them lead to unexpected revelations.

Grace in AFTERNOON RIVER EVENING SKY


Synopsis:
A short film divided into two parallel stories. In Afternoon River, Grace, a waitress in a Malaysian/Chinese restaurant tries to go through her mundane everyday work while ignoring the incessant ringing of her cell phone. In Evening Sky, the tomboyish Lai Fun seeks justice from an illegal DVD peddler who impregnated her best friend.

KINGYO (2009)

[kingyo] Standing on the bridge of Akihabara





Synopsis:
A university professor decides to go for a tour in Akihabara, guided by a young woman dressed up like a French maid. As they both walk through the streets of modern Tokyo, the man and the young woman gradually speak of a past they both share, and ultimately a painful love triangle that continues to haunt them. A poetic rumination in love, memories and loss told almost entirely with split screens.

Set in an isolated fishing village of Malaysia, a woman's relationship with her young daughter descends into a path of self-destruction and abuse when she begins to receive a series of strange and mysterious letters from her long-absent husband.

Synopsis:
“One day, I received an email from him…” A young woman narrates a series of letters from an old friend meditating on time, memory and mortality. He is seeking life’s meaning throughout his travels in India and Japan, but ends up finding beauty in some fleeting images of everyday life that he had previously overlooked.

Part documentary, part travelogue, maybe a love letter.

CHICKEN RICE MYSTERY (2008)

Synopsis:
After years of suffering from Mom's horrible cooking, a young boy finds out from Dad that Mom may have lost her cooking powers due to childbirth. Desperate to clear his name, the boy starts his own investigation on the special Chicken Rice dish Mom used to cook long ago, interviewing and interrogating the colourful members of his family, and finally leading him to a dangerous secret.
