It's a little sad that I learned of both deaths within minutes of each other. David Carradine was found hanging in his hotel room at Bangkok (article here, either it was suicide or a sex game gone wrong). He was 72.
Shih Kien (or Shek Kin) died of kidney failure (Chinese article here). He was 96.
David Carradine is remembered by most as the star of the 1970s TV show KUNG FU, but I've never seen that, I only remember him more for the mid-90s 'sequel' KUNG FU: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, and of course, the KILL BILL films.

As for Shih Kien, he's a HK screen icon who was known for playing villains. Western audiences may remember him more for playing the last baddie, the claw-wielding Han, in Bruce Lee's Enter The Dragon.

I remember reading a tweet last night regarding Carradine that said "Kung Fu masters don't die, they just kick ass in a different realm of existence." But for me, I'll apply the line to both Carradine and Shek Kin.
