Floating Sun @ Rotterdam International Film Festival 2014

The Rotterdam International Film Festival has just ended today with the announcement of its 3 Tiger Award winners, they are:

- ANATOMY OF A PAPER CLIP by Ikeda Akira (Japan)

- HAN GONG-JU by Lee Su-Jin (South Korea)

- SOMETHING MUST BREAK by Ester Martin Bergsmark (Sweden)

(eh, no trailer)

A Thai film, THE SONGS OF RICE, won the FIPRESCI award.

A Sri Lankan film, 28, got the NETPAC award.

Congrats to the winners!

The director's cut version of my short film FLOATING SUN, which was part of the 3 DOORS OF HORRORS online horror omnibus I did last year (click the link to watch the original version of Floating Sun), was also invited to the festival (at the Spectrum section, which is out of competition).

The version shown in Rotterdam is slightly longer, with some scenes being edited differently.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the festival in person. I'm rather fond of Rotterdam.

Thankfully, Sorayos Prapapan's (I call him Yossy) short film BOONRERM was also screened at the same program, FLOATING STORIES (named after my short film... I guess?) Yossy, by the way, is also the sound person for my ongoing film RIVER OF EXPLODING DURIANS.

Through him, I was able to know how the screenings went.
