Ever since I finished the principal photography for RIVER OF EXPLODING DURIANS in early March, I have been spending my time editing and then tinkering with it. It's actually a habit of mine, that I'm never satisfied with the editing of my works until it has finally premiered somewhere, and I know that I can't touch it anymore.

I spent the whole first week of June doing the reshoots for Ming Jin's SECOND LIFE OF THIEVES, then I shot an extra sequence for RIVER OF EXPLODING DURIANS with almost the same skeletal crew.

The new sequence involved the lead actress Daphne, and a child actress Zoe, who was supposed to play the child version of the protagonist.

It was an intense scene that involved burning books.

Thanks to Gaik, who came to visit the set. There were photos of me in action as well!

One of the most interesting parts of the shoot was the fact that I used a couple of origami that I have kept for nearly 5 years.

These origami were folded by Maiko the Producer as props when we were making my old short film EXHALATION (for this particular scene).

I had kept them all along before I cleared up my room in Tokyo last month and brought them back to Malaysia.

Nearly two weeks have passed since the shoot. I have been finalizing the edit for both RIVER OF EXPLODING DURIANS and Ming Jin's SECOND LIFE OF THIEVES.

The end is near.

I look forward to future projects.
